03/27/12 – Civilian Military Combine

908ers – It’s always fun to train for something.  Now you all can put your CrossFit training to the test in a race inspired by CrossFit.  Not only is the Civilian Military Combine a race with tons of obstacles, but it also has Thrusters, Burpees, Box Jumps, and Kettlebell Swings.  The Tri-State Area race will be held on May 19, at Camelback Mountain in PA.  With regionals only a week after the race, I’ll be skipping this one, but that doesn’t mean we all can’tl train for a great event in two months.  On April 28, CMC is going to come into 908 and put on a demonstration.  We’ll open this event up to people outside of 908.  The event will give athletes a taste of the PIT, which invokes the movements listed above, with a run after.  Post your interest to the comments section!

    Welcome back Erin!

  4. After what Vicki said, I’m going to check out the website first (lol!!), but if I think I can handle it, I’d love to join in! I’m off that weekend :).
Welcome home, sister!!!!! Hope to see you tonight at the 908!!!!!!!!!! xoxoxo

  5. Great WOD today, i enjoyed it. I don’t think i’m quite ready for the Tri-State CMC, maybe next year? I think i could probably do that beer fest at Mt. Carmel tho.

  6. WHOA! how long does that take to run? 2 days? I THINK I’m interested… Wait… 5.4 miles through the mountains… Never mind… Actually… we get to go down a water slide half way through!?!?… yeah I’m definitely in!!… On second thought… I’m going to have to sleep on this one.

  7. see – I look at it differently….20 men dressed in uniform at every obstacle course, making sure I am safe and sound….mmmm not much to think about there.

  8. I’m interested the CMC if you don’t have to stand at every obstacle and wait like at the Tough Mudder. Otherwise, sounds like fun.

  9. Hi, I’m looking for a some info from anyone that feels they can help me out….So I just learned about the CMC and want to participate badly but I just recently started running again from about a 5 month break. My question is, if I start seriously training for this, is 7 weeks a realistic time to be ready for a competition of this kind?
