Coaching can take many forms
⭐️ Verbal - Giving someone a cue with your voice. These should be short and to the point.
⭐️ Visual - Demonstrate what you want the client to do. Not everyone learns just by hearing.
⭐️ Tactile - This is when you use your hands to help manipulate a client into the correct position. This is an extremely helpful way to get a client to "feel" the right position so they can repeat it.
A word of caution, make sure you ask if it is okay for you to use a tactile cue. Rob said it was perfectly fine for me to touch his butt. Win-win.
Everyone learns differently and most coaches teach differently. A good coach is relentless about working with their clients to ensure they are moving safely by using all available cues and sometimes having to get creative.
