Paleo Challenge – October 2012

  • 30-Day Challenge – 2 Winners – 1 Male/1 Female
  • The Winner will be decided based on a combination of compliance and improvement on the benchmark workout, which is a 2k row. The 2k row can be completed at any point prior to October 1st.

  • You must post your points to the facebook group page every day.  If you go more than 48 hours without posting you will be disqualified.
  • Food Choices -Yes/No
    • No Grains
    • No Legumes
    • No Dairy (None)
    • No Added Sugar – Double check your sauces and dressings. This includes all artificial sweeteners.
    • No Vegetable Oils (Cottonseed, Safflower, Sunflower, Canola, etc.)
    • 3 servings of Wine or Alcohol Per Week.  Any more and you receive negative points for each drink.  No Beer even if it is gluten free.
    • Yes Unprocessed Meats and Fish
    • Yes Fruits
    • Yes Vegetables
    • Yes Nuts (Raw)
    • Yes Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Clarified Butter (Ghee), Tallow, Lard
  • Scoring –
    • Every MEAL you eat 100% within the guidelines of the challenge you will receive +2 points.  A maximum of +6 points from food per day.
    • Every MEAL that is NOT within the guidelines of the challenge is -2.  You must net your score at the end of the day.  Here is an example of how this would work.  Say you had three perfect meals, and one bad meal, your score is 4 (6-2).  If you have two perfect meals and one bad meal your score is 2 (4-2).  One good meal and two bad meals is -2 (2-4).  Three bad meals is -6.
    • You will receive a +2 for every day you workout.
    • Maximum points per day is +8 (6 from food, 2 from working out).
    • You must post your points to the Facebook event page EVERY DAY. You are not allowed to go more than 48-hours without posting, or you are eliminated.
    • You must weigh in between 09/24 and 10/01.  No shoes and no gimmicks. You will be eliminated if you try to weigh in at night after stuffing face and then weigh in at the end of the challenge at 6am after a 24-hour fast.
    • Before / After Pics – HIGHLY recommended.  You may not like the idea of you shirtless or in a sports bra, but I’m telling you the progress you make will make it all worth it. Please take one in the comfort of your own home in workout clothes.  We’re all about keeping track!  If you refuse, at least get a picture of you with all your clothes on. Comparison pictures are fun and motivating.
    • The winner will be decided based on a combination of compliance and the benchmark workout.  There will be one male winner and one female winner, both of whom will receive some equipment to start building a home gym!
