Greg Hamilton

I’ve been active my whole life. I began playing sports as a kid – everything from baseball, soccer, hockey and basketball, and I always seemed to be hiking, biking, or enjoying the outdoors. In high school I played baseball, but switched to cross country (yes, you read that right) and track and field. In college, I discovered rugby and fell in love with it; at West Point I played Division 1 rugby for four years.

Leaving West Point, I no longer had a “sport”, so I became a standard gym rat lifting back, bi’s, chest and tri’s. In 2011, my brother introduced me to CrossFit, but I didn’t make it my main training methodology right away. I did WOD workouts occasionally but wasn’t very consistent.

When I moved to Savannah, GA in 2014, I found CrossFit Steadfast (if you make it to Savannah – drop in they have a great community) and immediately joined and started training.

Coaching was always a goal for me; however, being active duty I did not have a lot of time to pursue it. In 2016 I found myself with less deployment time, and I was able to focus a little more time to coaching. I have now had three years of coaching experience, and I am looking forward to sharing my passion for CrossFit with everyone and growing as a coach.
