It is that time of year again!  The CrossFit Open is upon us.  For those of you who are not familiar with the CrossFit Open, it is a pre-qualifying event that consists of 5-workouts released over 5-weeks and all workouts are done at your local affiliate and all scores are submitted online.  You are judged at your affiliate by a fellow CrossFitter, and your affiliate owner, me, will validate all scores.  The nitty gritty details will come later, but all you need to know is that you should give it a go.  It is not just for the crazy competitive exercisers who have aspirations of making it to the CrossFit Games.  It is for everyone who just wants to challenge themselves.  It is the same concept as signing up for a Tough Mudder, Ironman, Tri-athalon, 5k run, Spartan Race, etc.  You don’t sign up in hopes of winning or not sign up in fear of being laughed at for not doing well.  You sign up to give it a go, to challenge yourself, and to have fun.  The cost of the open is $20.  That is $4 per workout. It doesn’t get any cheaper than that.  Also, for those of you who enjoy the judging aspect, CrossFit offers a judges course for $10.  Any judge who will be judging a potential Regional athlete needs to take this course.  We plan on going to Regionals, so we highly encourage you all to take the course!  Sign up HERE, and make sure to sign up under CrossFit 908. To let everyone know well in advance, the Open workouts will be held on Saturdays, being that they will be released on Thursday nights.  If you can not make Saturdays, you will have an opportunity to make up the workout on Sunday @ Open Gym, but you will need to find a judge.

Today is Thursday, a programmed rest day at 908.  You can take the day off, ORRRRR, you can be super cool and come to the gym to make up a missed workout, mobilize, talk to your favorite peeps, lift something heavy, get your swell on, do curls, drink protein shakes, see Jake dance to a song mid workout, or to ask your coaches for some help.  It is your call.  Either way, we’d love to see your beautiful faces.
