02/17/13: Sunday Update

  • Hope For Kenya – Thank you to all of the 908ers who attended the Hope For Kenya workout yesterday!  We have raised over $2,700!  I am extremely proud of our affiliate and our ability to come together in a short period of time to raise money for a good cause.  Thank you to everyone who donated.  I know that money is a hot commodity, and I know how hard you all work for it.  It seems like everywhere you turn you could donate to what seems to be a very worthy cause.  I appreciate that you all considered Hope For Kenya.
  • 2013 CrossFit Open Registration is Live! – CrossFit 908 is proud to be a part of this year’s CrossFit Open.  We currently have 36 people signed up under the 908 team!  We have passed the judges course, and we are ready to host the Open workouts and uphold the highest standards.  We encourage all of you to give the Open a try.  Yes, at it’s heart it is a competition, but more than that it is 5-weeks of awesome workouts that act as a baseline for your current level of fitness.  What’s even better is that we all convene for the workout of the week, and cheer each other on.  This year we are hoping to host the Open workouts on Saturdays from 10am-12pm.  Since each person needs a judge for each workout, we try to get everyone together.  If Saturdays don’t work for you, you will 100% be able to get someone to judge you on a Thursday, or at Sunday open gym.  Don’t worry about your schedule.  it is cheap to register.  You seriously have nothing to lose.  You will spend some quality time with 908ers, and make our unbelievable community even better.  I hope many of you will sign up!
  • Nutrition Challenge – We have passed the halfway mark and it seems like many of you are cruising!  Congratulations on your success thus far.  What kind of positive results are people seeing?
  • Paleo Food Fest – On Sunday, 03/03 from 5pm-8pm, CrossFit 908 will host a Potluck Food Fest open to all members. If you would like to have one (or more) of your recipes included in the CF 908 cookbook, you will need to submit your recipe ahead of time electronically and then make it for the Food Fest. (You should be sure that you have tried this recipe ahead of time!) We will provide an electronic template and submission guidelines for recipes.  There can be no Food Fest without the “Food,” so we encourage you all to consider submitting a recipe.   Please refer to THIS POST which has more information.
