11/06/12: Donations to Sandy victims

CrossFit 908 Fundamentals – We will be hosting Fundamentals tonight @ 7:30pm.  We will be making up the information that we would have covered last week.  There are still 3 more classes left after tonight.  See you all tonight!

CrossFit 908 is accepting donations & supplies for Hurricane Sandy victims – if you can please drop them off by Thursday night that would be ideal.  Bri Kosch will be driving out to Long Beach, NY and dropping off supplies to those who are in need.  Please read her letter below.  Thanks to all of you for helping out, and a big thanks to Bri!
Hi Everyone,
I will be taking off work on Friday and heading into Long Beach, NY with a car full of supplies and to help out so many of my friends whose lives were completely devastated by the hurricane. For those of you who do not know, Long Beach is the town where I moved here from and called my home for 6 years. My one friend and her husband lost their new home and both of their brand new Crossfit gyms (Crossfit KOB and Crossfit King of Island Park). I know at least 100 similar and even worse stories of friends in LB. It’s extremely heartbreaking.
This being said I will be collecting supplies all week if anyone would like to donate them to me. LB is without food, power, heat and clean water for at least the rest of the month. Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated; food, clothing, cleaning supplies, baby supplies, dog supplies, blankets, pretty much anything. I will also be making a trip to Target or Costco this week to stock up on supplies so if you don’t have items to donate, you could also contribute that way. Anything you would like to donate, you can just drop off at the gym and I will pick up this week!
Thank you all for your help and support. Long Beach and I appreciate it greatly.

– Bri xoxo

  1. I’ve been looking around and seems that most of the places taking donations are overwhelmed with clothing donations. They are more specifically looking for jackets(most important), gloves and hats, as the temperature is dropping.
