3/13/13 – Tim's 30th

Hey everyone it’s Erin, and I hijacked today’s post for a very special reason…it’s Tim’s 30th birthday!

As some of you may know, Tim and I have known each other for about 15 years, and we have been together for almost 9.

I always knew Tim was driven to succeed, but I didn’t realize how truly hardworking and determined he was until he started CrossFit 908.

At first I thought he had gone mad (quitting his finance job, proposing to me, and starting up a CrossFit gym all in a few months’ time).  To drop everything and start your own business was something that I viewed as somewhat crazy and definitely risky.  I always supported him, but the first year was difficult since Tim (and 99% of his time) was completely dedicated to the gym.

For a while I questioned if the gym would work out for us – barely anyone had known about CrossFit at the time.

Slowly, more and more people heard about CrossFit 908 and gave it a try, and over time it became ours and many members’ second home.  Tim created such an amazing community full of caring individuals all seeking out a healthier lifestyle.  Seeing Tim’s dream come to fruition has been beyond fulfilling, and I am so thankful that he took the risk 4 years ago.  CrossFit 908 enriches our lives on a daily basis, and Tim’s dedication is to thank for that.  Happy 30th Birthday Tim, I hope you take a step back from everything today and truly see just how successful you have become and how many people’s lives you have changed for the better.

To celebrate Tim’s 30th, I hope you all can make it tomorrow night (Thursday, March 14) at 8PM for drinks at Delicious Heights in Berkeley Heights.

  1. Happy birthday, even than you were stuffing socks in you bathing suit some things don’t change.

  2. I guess we’ve known Tim for that long, too, since he started coming over to visit Erin during those early high school years. Jerry and I are so glad that he is part of our family… he is such a sincere, dedicated, caring, and hardworking (and fun!) young man… perfect for our wonderful daughter. We’ve watched Crossfit 908 become a true success, and it wouldn’t have done so without Tim’s (and Erin’s) personal touch and commitment…. they make it a warm, caring, and welcoming community. Happy 30th Birthday, dear Tim!!! We love you!!!

  11. Tim,

Since we met a little over 3 years ago, you’ve embraced me not only as a member of CF 908 but more importantly, as your friend. I remember one night at Rui’s place in westfield a remark was passed that I never forgot. We were all saying our goodbyes for the night and you said “I’m glad we became friends.” You’ve pushed me to achieve more than I ever thought I could at crossfit and you continue to be an inspiration. Happy Birthday, man!

  12. Sister, sister…what a beautiful post!! I sure am so very happy that my brother found such an amazing partner to spend his life with!!
To my baby “brudder”…Happy 30th!! I am so very proud of all that you have already accomplished in this life. I admire your hard work, dedication and commitment you put into everything you set your mind to. I know you are my “little” brother, but I look up to you. I see what an amazing role model you are to those around you. Crossfit 908 has become such an amazing community, and it all started with you and that superwoman of a wife of yours :)!! I thank God for placing you here on this earth as my brother…and I am so very thankful for having you in my life as one of my best friends. I love you with my whole heart, and I wish you an amazing year at 30!! XOXO, Dots 🙂

Happy 30th Tim. Now that’s only a number, right – and you don’t feel a day older than the picture!!! Also want to congratulate you on making CF 908 such a wonderful community – not only the great trainers but also all the members who are very supportive of each other. To paraphrase Winston Churchill…..“ it’s a place where we offer our blood, toil, tears and sweat”……and do it willingly! Happy birthday again and have a great year.
