Jayda – The 908 Gym Dog

For those of you who don’t know, Jayda, Ron’s dog, passed away on Saturday night.  You only needed to meet Jayda once to be infected with her love.  She was adored by all, and she added an element to the gym that only a great dog can.  I thank Ron for letting her be a part of CrossFit 908. To help Ron through this tough time I thought it would be nice to start a collection towards her memorial box for her ashes.  Any additional funds will be sent to the shelter where Ron rescued Jayda.

  1. I will never forget Jayda and how she would energetically bound over to me every time I came into the gym. I always looked forward to seeing her and hugging her, she truly brightened my day. Ron, she was crazy about you and always just wanted your love… You gave her this and so much more. We are all here for you during this very difficult time. We will miss her. <3

  2. I only met her a handful of times. I don’t consider myself a “dog person” but I can say I truly enjoyed Jayda’s presence when I was around her, as Erin said always brightened my day, and when it was time to work out, she moved on to the next person to show some love, with a seemingly endless amount of love to give. Sorry for you loss Ron <3

  3. Ron…Because of the time I come to the gym I’ve only been around Jayda a few times. I’ve had dogs my whole life though and can tell you that I don’t think I’ve ever been around a dog as playful and loving as she was. Saturday, was actually the first time I ever really got to play with her. I was rolling out before the workout and when I rolled over to switch sides, she was right there and started licking my face. That’s how I’ll remember Jayda, loving and friendly regardless of whether or not she just met you. Hang in there man.

  4. I loved seeing Jayda at the gym. She really was the perfect dog and will be missed by everyone who has met her. Ron: you’re a great guy and its painful to think about what you are going through right now. Hang in there and know that we are here if you need anything.

  5. Seeing Jayda at the gym making her rounds so that she got pet by everyone was so cute and funny. She was such a good dog, and will be missed. I can not imagine how hard this is. Sorry for the loss Ron.

  6. I’ll never forget Jayda going ballistic barking whenever we did box jumps or started throwing weights around. What a gorgeous dog. She was so sweet and I’ll definitely miss having her around. 🙁

  7. my heart breaks for you, ron- we all know how much you loved and adored her. she was an amazingly lvoing and beautiful dog full of life and love. she will be greatly missed. our hearts and thoughts are with you- we are all here for you!

  8. Jayda was such an awesome dog. I remember when I first met her–she came and licked my face while I was stretching–such a sweetheart. 🙂

Little Evan had such a great time holding her leash (he was such a BIG help!) and petting her during B4B on Saturday morning. He told me, “You know, she IS big, but…she’s not as big as ME!”And then he put his head on hers and rubbed her ears. It was one of the cutest moments ever.

I’m really going to miss seeing her at the gym and I’d love to donate toward the cause. Thanks for putting this together.

We’re all here for you, Ron.

  9. Whenever Jayda was at the gym, I always tried to finish faster so I could go snuggle with her. Unbelievably sad. Wish there was something to say or do to make you feel better, Ron. She was truly a wonderful dog and had the most beautiful light brown eyes. I will miss her so much.

  10. My big baby… i’m gonna miss her very much, she was so lovable, beautiful baby girl,
Ron i know how hard it most be, be strong and if you need to talk we are all here to listen….
    We’ll miss her

  11. What a great dog. Ron, every time I came to the gym and saw your car, I would immediately wonder if you brought Jayda with you. Everyone adored her. She will be missed dearly.

  12. I finally got to meet Jayda at Barbells for Boobs. Everyone had been telling me what a great dog she was and after just 2 minutes with her, I knew why! Find comfort in all the great (and silly) memories you have of her. She was a beautiful girl and lucky to have you as her best friend.

  13. Ron, I’m so sorry to hear what happened. Jayda was the sweetest dog and we all loved to give her attention because she was so affectionate. She will definitely be missed at 908, and as a dog-lover, I feel for you as you mourn. I know you’ll never forget her. Sending you my love during this tough time…xoxo

  14. Having 2 dogs I know what a huge part of your life they are, it makes me so sad to hear this. I know i will miss her.

  15. Ron, I am praying for you during this difficult time. Remember, all dogs go to heaven… Especially Jayda!!! I will truly miss her dominating me on the gym floor after a workout… Her gentleness and loving personality always helped take away any pain I felt and helped me to recover. She will be missed by us all. Always here for you

  16. Sorry for your loss, Ron. Let me know if you need anything. Jayda was a beautiful, friendly & very loving dog & we’ll all miss her at cross fit!

  17. I’ve put off saying something, as I don’t think there’s anything that can be said to make this easier, but of course my heart goes out to you, Ron. Jayda was a lovely dog, and it always brought a smile to my face when I saw her at the gym and got in a good cuddle session. I’ll always smile thinking of doing GHD hip extensions with her standing there waiting for a pat at the bottom of every rep!.

  18. Ron, I am so sorry for your loss. Being a fellow dog lover, I cannot imagine what you’re going through. She was a wonderful dog.

  19. Only got to meet her once but like ant said ..she came bounding over to me as soon as I walked in the gym as though I was an old friend she missed! This was only just a few weeks ago so I feel so Lucky I got to meet her! Wasn’t she just a puppy?? Losing the unconditional love of a dog…especially such a unique one like jayda, is the worst pain. I’m so sorry Ron!
