Nutrition Challenge Day #15 – We are eliminating dairy from our diet this week and will continue to exclude it for the remainder of the Nutrition Challenge. We now have removed grains, legumes, added sugars and dairy. We are giving you the option to use up to 1tbsp of heavy cream and/or butter on a daily basis. Fair warning though, some people have cut out dairy all together and have seen remarkable results already. If you have any form of intolerance, the slightest bit can set you back. It is up to you. There are 4.5 weeks left in the challenge. I am happy to see most everyone is still posting! REMEMBER to post your score today for Saturday, Sunday, Week 1, Week 2, and Total thus far. Two weeks in, and I’m hearing some numbers of 5lbs+ already! Keep up the great work everyone.

Side note : is there any real alternative to eggs for breakfast? I don’t know if I can take 4.5 more weeks of eggs in the morning.
left overs man. steak, hamburgers, paleo chicken salad.
Ditto what Pat said.
You can also make your own version of breakfast sausage, ie:

Sat = -1
Sun = +1
Wk 1 = 7
Wk 2 = 3

Tim, I think we need a refresher on scoring. If you cheat 1x in a week, your weekly total is 5 not 6, and if you cheat 2x in one week, your weekly total is 3, not 5. Is that correct?
I had the exact same thought process! 6 shouldn’t be possible!
In which case:Friday +1 Sat -1 , Sun +1, gave me a total of +3 for the week (2 cheats)
I had +7 last week
Total= +10
Saturday -1
Sunday +1
Week one total: +6
Week 2 Total +6
I can’t believe that I am going to have to split one TBS of heavy cream between 2 cups of coffee! Will be trying coconut milk, unsweetened of course.
For those of you who may want to try something different for breakfast, try a coconut milk (unsweetened) shake with 3/4 of a banana, 1/2 tsp. vanilla, a few frozen or fresh berries. Also vary egg dishes with the addition of some leftover grilled veggies.
I also make Primal Pancakes (my version). This recipe makes about 6-7 smallish pancakes. You will have to top with fresh fruit or butter, because maple syrup is a no-no for now.
1 egg, separated: beat the egg whites stiff
Into a 1/3 measuring cup, spoon 1 Tbsp. coconut flour and then top off the rest of the way with almond flour or almond meal. Pour into a medium sized bowl. Add: the egg yolk, 1 Tbsp. melted butter or coconut oil, 2 Tbsp. unsweetened coconut milk, 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, fruit (see below for suggested additions). Mix well. Fold in the beaten egg white. Spoon onto greased griddle (I like to use a bit of rendered bacon fat). Do not make the pancakes too large, since they are a bit difficult to turn.
Good fruit additions: mashed banana (about ½-3/4 banana), blueberries, pecans, unsweetened chunky applesauce.
There are 7 days in a week so if you cheat once in a week then your total should be +6, I think.
I thought it was +1 for a good day and -1 for every cheat… I kind of assumed that any day you cheated you wouldn’t get the +1?
+1 Saturday
+1 Sunday
Week One=7
Week Two=7
-1 Sunday
Week one = +6 (1 cheat)
Week two = + 5 (2 cheats)
6+(-1)=5
5+(-2)=3
Cheating is punitive. Thank you for bringing this up. I understand that this gets a little tricky. 6 is not possible for a week. If you cheat once the most you can have is +5. You can have +4 if you are clean six days and cheat twice on one day.
but arent we running in a 7 day period? monday-sunday
Saturday -1
Sunday +1
Week one:7
Week two:5
Saturday -1
Sunday +1

i’m confuse about points, 3 cheats used all together
Correction then. +5 weeks one and two. (6 clean days each week and one day each week with one cheat).
this sounds dumb, but I am so confused.
Week 1: +7
Week 2: 2 cheats on Saturday, 1 cheat on Sunday, no idea what point total is.
Correction:
Week 1: +5(1 cheat)
Week 2: +7
Sat +1 Sun +1
Week 1 = +5
Week 2 = +7
Total = +12
Nicole, week 2 should be 2 pts total. M-F=+5 and Sat/Sun= -3 (-2 for Sat and -1 for Sun). Got it? 😉
yes i get it! thx
week 1: 7
week 2: 2 (wow, those cheats don’t feel worth it after working so hard for 5 days)
This is going to be a tough week, I’m in Las Vegas for the entire week at a convention.
Sat +1
Sun +1
Week 1 +7
Week 2 +6
I’m in Orlando… I feel your pain…
Sat +1, Sun +1
Week 1 +7
Week 2 +7
So, if the only decider in winner is weight lost, why do we keep points?
sat -1
sun +1
week 1: +3
week 2: +3 again … damn weekends!!
i’m so screwed…..pretty sure i used all my cheats this saturday at the Hunt: bagels, beers, subs, chips, beer beer and beer (-100 for me)
Rereading through these comments, I see the errors of my cumulative math -to recalculate:
week 1: two cheat meals on two different days is then +3 for the total
week 2: one cheat meal is then+5 for the total
(right?)
Week 1 total = +5
Week 2 total = +5
+1
+1 Saturday, -1 Sunday
+5 Week 1, 6 clean days, one cheat.
+3 Week 2, 5 clean days, 2 cheats.
had family out all week, can’t believe how strong I was…
-1 Saturday, +1 Sunday
Week 1: +6 (6 good days, 1 cheat)
Week 2: +5 (5 good days, 2 cheats)
Total so far: +11 (-3)
