03/06/15: Nutrition Challenge Winners!

CONGRATULATIONS to Daryl S. and Alex A. on winning our most recent Nutrition Challenge.  Daryl and Alex put up fantastic performances during this past four weeks, losing 7.7% and 8.15% of their body weights respectively.  We had a number of honorable mentions from this past challenge including Eric M., Christine B., Vinny C., Christine V., and Kim M..  Overall it was one of our most successful nutrition challenges.  Congratulations to everyone who persevered and made positive changes in their eating habits.  I hope you all feel great!

The CrossFit Open Workout 15.2 has been announced.  Please click on the link to see all the details of the workout.  For RX Men & Women it is the following

Workout 15.2 – Every 3 minutes for as long as possible complete:

From 0:00-3:00

  •    2 rounds of:
    •    10 overhead squats (95 / 65 lb.)
    •    10 chest-to-bar pull-ups

From 3:00-6:00

  •    2 rounds of:
    •    12 overhead squats (95 / 65 lb.)
    •    12 chest-to-bar pull-ups

From 6:00-9:00

  •    2 rounds of:
    •    14 overhead squats (95 / 65 lb.)
    •    14 chest-to-bar pull-ups

Etc., following same pattern until you fail to complete both rounds

Yet again, we have a workout based mostly around grip strength.  Having done this workout last year, I can tell you that holding on for pull ups becomes challenging very quickly.   Please be smart with you grip and stay safe.  Unfortunately this week’s scaled option still includes pull ups.  I know that this is a very difficult bodyweight movement, so if you need to use bands, we will allow it, but it will not be counted as a valid score for the Open.

Today’s Workout:

  • Skill – Handstands – 20 min to work on progressing your handstand.  Wall Walk / Handstand Hold / HSPU (Kipping and Strict) / HS Walk)
  • Conditioning – 30-20-10
    • Wall Balls (Sx = 14#/10# – Rx = 20#/14#)
    • Burpees
    • Box Jumps (Sx = 20″/18″ – Rx = 24″/20″)
  • Finisher – 3 x 20 Hip Extensions / Good Morning
