09/22/15: Cardio Core Blaster

Due to low attendance for yoga on Thursdays, this class will be discontinued for the time being.  Yoga with Karen will continue to be held on Sundays at 8:30 a.m.  Remember to sign up ahead of time!

Today’s Workout:

  • Strength – 7 x 2 Back Rack Lunge (Two steps per leg – Seven working sets.  Heavier than last week.
  • Conditioning – 5 Rounds For Total Reps
    • 1 min – Max Cal Row
    • 1 min – Max V-Ups
    • 1 min – Max Double Unders
    • 1 min – Rest
  • Finisher – Foam Roll Calves / IT Bands / Quads / Hamstrings

For the past several months I have been traveling a lot for the DC Brawlers and GRID. Just this past Sunday, the DC Brawlers went on to defend their championship title against the Phoenix Rise.  The match was a close one that started off with the Brawlers in a pretty big deficit.  Going into the Snatch Ladder, race 7, we were all tied up.  In the picture below, Christian Harris hits a 270# snatch with only 5 seconds left in the race.  Hitting this lift secured a 3-point win for DC and drastically shifted the momentum in the match.  Btw, Harris hit 14 snatches before this lift starting with 60# and going up by 15# all in a little over a minute.  I could not be more proud to be the GM of such an amazing group of people.  Looking forward to the 2016 season!
