03/05/16: Nutrition Challenge Winners Announced

Here are the winners:

  • 1st Place – Brian Darling & Maryann Valley – 12.94% combined % bodyweight loss
  • 2nd Place – Margie Cranston & Ellen Rabasca – 12.24% combined % bodyweight loss
  • 3rd Place – Parry Gosling & Sam Khambadkone – 11.71% combined % bodyweight loss
  • Honorable mentions – Monica Murza and Tanja Martin both lost over 7% of their bodyweight!  Also Brian and Mike from the teams above lost nearly 8% of their bodyweight.  The single greatest % bodyweight loss was Margie with nearly 9%!

The results from this Nutrition Challenge were nothing short of amazing.  We had the most amount of people finish a challenge EVER.  I think the partner system worked really well. We had the best weight loss figures we have ever had.  I hope you are all feeling as amazing as you look.  I know there are several people who are continuing this challenge on their own.  If you are one of them, use the 908 Nutrition Challenge Facebook group to help each other stay accountable.  Also, for those of you who aren’t members of the regular 908 Facebook Community group, please join here.  It’s a great place to talk CrossFit, post links, organize social events, etc.  If you think we can improve our future nutrition challenges in any way, we would love to hear your feedback as well!

Today we are hosting the 2016 CrossFit Open Workout 16.2 starting @ 9am.  We will have heats of 10 – 14 people.   Here is a link to the description of the workout.  As per usual we will need judges, so please plan to help judge, as well as some weight changers to help those who will be progressing through rounds.  Some of you may only be able to do the first round and no more, so we are going to create a version where everyone will get at least a 12 minute workout.  We should be able to get the whole day done in under two hours.

Today’s Workout – 7am / 8am

  • Skill – EMOM10 – 1 Squat Clean – Build to a heavy single
  • Conditioning – AMRAP15
    • 15 Toes To Bar (Sx = 20 Abmat Sit Ups)
    • 50 Double Unders (Sx = 1:00 of attempts
    • 15 Squat Cleans (Sx = 75/55, Rx = 115/75, Crx = 155/105#)
  • Finisher – AMRAP2 – Push Ups
