08/18/17: Nutrition Challenge?

Anyone up for a September Nutrition Challenge?  Our partner challenges have been working very well.  Does anyone have any suggestions for a new challenge, or something different?  Please post to the comments

908 BBQ @ Juan Grana’s Next Saturday @ 3pm – Next Saturday, August 26 @ 3pm Juan Grana will be hosting a BBQ for all 908 members. All friends and family are welcome. Juan’s address is 35 Mary Ellen Drive, Edison, NJ 08820. Juan will be providing burgers and dogs. Please bring an item of food or drink of your choice. Juan’s backyard is like a adult playground with a pool, volleyball, ping pong, and many more games. We hope to see many of you there!

Today’s Workout:

  • Strength – 5 x 5 Overhead Squats – Rest 2 min between sets.  Take from ground or rack.  If Overhead Squats are not an option, complete 5 x 5 Front Squats.
  • Conditioning – For Time – “Time Bomb”
    • 100 Dumbbell Snatches (Sx = 40#/30# – Rx = 50#/35#)
    • ***At the top of every minute complete the following***
      • Odd Min – 30 Double Unders (Sx = :30 attempts or 60 SU’s)
      • Even Min – 10 Wall Balls (Sx = 14#/10# – Rx = 20# to 10ft / 14# to 9ft)
  • Finisher – 5 Sets – 5-10 Strict HSPU

  1. With the nutrition challenge maybe do a skill challenge to spice it up?

    Idk if it’s been done before but maybe do something where you and your partner need to complete (combine not each):

    1000 calories (AD /Row)
    1500 burpees
    2000 double unders

    Over the whole nutrition challenge.

  2. Might be interesting to include blood work, before and after, to ascertain glucose levels, cholesterol, liver enzymes. Things like that.

    Additionally, and it might take a little bit of time on leadership part, but ask to look at notebooks to see where people have improved. Just a thought…

    Finally, have all of the coaches weigh in on their opinions of who has worked the hardest, who has the best attitude, and puts in the most effort, as mitigating factors in the final decisions.
