  1. For those of you doing the Nutrition Challenge and anyone else trying to eat Primal:
Just had bloodwork done for a physical/pre-surgery clearance. After 15 months of eating 80% primal, I thought all the eggs (at least 5 mornings a week) and meat and coconut oil would make my cholesterol rise tremendously. My doctor was amazed…not only have I lost 8 pounds in the last year, but my good cholesterol went up, the bad one went down and the total dropped 10 points. (It was actually good before…now it’s better!) He wanted to know what I was doing. Now, you all know that it is not easy to explain, but I did my best, and he just smiled and shook his head. So, for those of you in the current challenge, it works!!! Primal does a body good!!

    1. That’s awesome Karen. I just had blood work done and I am awaiting the results with the same curiosity. I eat around 2 dozen eggs a week plus lots of meat and healthy fats and everyone (outside of cf908) that I know says my cholesterol must be through the roof. Hopefully I can finally shut them up. Results don’t lie.

  2. Hey I tried to register for the Spartan Race today but it said that team Crossfit 908 does not exist. What time is the team registered for?

  3. +2

And +1 on the bloodwork. I’ve been primal since 2009, and people always try to tell me my cholesterol must be crazy. And I tell them they’re right, my HDL is usually around 100! Low trigs, good LDL profile, etc etc.
Eggs + kerrygold + grassfed beef = super hero.

  4. Happy belated bday Bri!!! Hope your birthday was a great one!!

This workout is going to be a fun one!

Congrats Karen for the great results at the docs! I’m so proud of you and all you nutrition challengers!! 🙂 You got this, guys!!!

  5. Karen/Vincent. I recently found out I have Hep C. Thank you for making me feel more comfortable talking about bloodwork, etc.

  6. John, if that is the case I am sorry. I heard you are eating paleo and otherwise look great. How do you feel?

    1. This is no surprise. John Johnson could eat purified gluten, deep fried in soybean oil with a high-fructose corn syrup topping and still be elite… Chuck Norris is in envy.
